Our Story
This is the 5th year that we have had a home garden on the property and every year it grows. We have learned so much through trial and error. The garden has even moved around a few times.
In January 2019, we planted 40 fruit trees! This has been incredibly exciting. We have peaches, nectarines, apricots, cherries, apples, and some other interesting varieties including, apriums, pluots, plumcots, nectaplums, and pluerries. We are excited to see these grow and to update you on their progress.
We also planted oranges, limes, mandarins, table grapes, blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, and cantaloupes. In the raised beds we have a wide variety of tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, and peppers. Then we have the flower beds that are full of dahlias and other cut flowers! The greenhouse is a great photo backdrop where we start all of our seeds for the year. The new hoop house at the front of the property, will house early Spring flowers and some other flowers that we will trial throughout the season.
In the next few years the farm is going to grow and there is no way that we will be able to consume it all on our own. That is when the farm stand idea arrived. We are proud to live in the Wood Colony area as we both grew up here. We can’t wait to showcase our hobby to everyone who stops by.
Sincerely,
Kimberly, Sam, and Corduroy (the ranch doodle)
